Women Are Making More at the Office and Working the Same at Home
I recently read a report that stated that a large portion of women in the developed world today make more money than their husbands do. Apparently, the trend is for women to marry men who are less educated then they are, and as such are making bigger pay checks. This caught me off guard, for two reasons. One is that I thought in a great many circumstances women were still reliant on a portion of their partners income, not making the bigger salary. The second, is that I am unaware of any major shift in the amount of homemaker responsibilities that men complete. Hence, I ponder if this end result is that women bring home the big section of the bacon, are still frying it up in the kitchen, and then are cleaning the kitchen to boot. Seems to me that inequality has taken an unexpected turn.
